New or Reopened Pub of the Year Award
Doors open again, and already loved.
About this category
This award recognises a pub that opened, reopened after closure or was transformed under new owners within the last two years and has already won back its community. Judges look for the vision, the transformation and the trade built since.
Eligibility
- Open to UK pubs that opened
- Reopened or changed hands within two years of the closing date
Judging criteria
- Vision
- Quality of the transformation
- Customers won
- Business planning
- Community response
Qualitative criteria
A pub brought back to life.
Metrics
- Months trading
- Trade growth
- Reviews and community involvement
Additional criteria
Entries should include a short description of the pub, photographs where helpful, supporting figures such as trade, covers, events or reviews, and, where possible, comments from regulars. Figures can be given as ranges and nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Every entry should show a commitment to responsible serving. Judges consider the size, setting and ownership of every pub, so a single room village local competes on equal terms with a large town centre pub or a small group.
